Highland Elementary is a TK-6th Grade school located in Inglewood, California. As a former high school history teacher and assistant principal, I am excited to lead Highland into the new decade! With the support of the faculty, staff, and the greater Highland community the goal is to return our school greatness.

Parent Portal is a service offered to parents and guardians for accessing certain student records. The service allows parents and guardians to access information about ALL of their students through one convenient website.

MPUSD continues its path toward implementing a transitional kindergarten - grade 6 model in the 2021-22 school year, as well as TK - Grade 8 models, attendance boundaries, and school consolidations in 2022-23.

Math fact practice in Elementary School is always good. Below are Math online resources that can help the students master their math facts, which is necessary to be successful in math. (Students should know their log-in information) Students can also practice flash cards or other online programs based in math fact acquisition.
The PBIS team at Highland Middle School has started a fundraiser hoping to raise some money for our various rewards and incentives for students (ex: Ghost Games and Reindeer Games). We have decided to aim for some husky gear that is non-sport specific. Good news is you can customize it to make it sporty or just styling.

Welcome back to another year of Middle School 7th and 8th graders, and welcome 6th graders! This year we are so much closer to normal, and you may want to remember the 2021-2022 school year. We are preselling yearbooks for this year and doing it digitally, to make it easier for families.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and to help spread the word and raise awareness about the disease, the Highland Husky Varsity Volleyball team hosted their annual "Dig Pink" fund-raising event during their home match against Saugerties on October 5. Read more here!
We hope that this letter finds you and your students healthy and doing well as our new school year gets underway. As you know, one of our major goals this year is to have as many of our students attend school in-person in the safest way possible.
The Board of Education has begun discussing the possibility of holding a spring capital project vote. The potential project is part of the Board’s multi-year strategic approach to leveraging retiring debt to update aged facilities and infrastructure without causing tax spikes. Learn more here.
On Friday, August 9th (after 6pm), Highland will send out connect ed phone calls to all parents of students in grades 1-5 letting you know who your child's teacher is! Please note that the number you have entered in your updated online enrollment is the number that will be used.
August 9, 2021 (after 6pm): Connect Ed phone calls will go out for grades 1-5 letting you know who your child's teacher is! August 23, 2021: First Day of School for 1st-5th Grade. August 23 & 24, 2021: Staggered Entry for Kindergarten. Half of the class attends school August 23, but does not come August 24.
The other half of the class does not come August 23, but does attend school August 24. All kindergarteners come August 25. You will receive a special postcard in the mail letting you know who your child’s teacher is as well as which day your child will come for their first day of school!
April 5, 2022: Report Cards - Paper grades are not sent home. Please check your child's grades in the online parent portal. June 8, 2022: Report Cards - Paper grades will be sent home with students.
