Note: local enrolment areas are subject to change. Hornsby Girls High School is an academically selective high school. Entry into Year 7 2023 Entry into Year 7 is by examination set by the High Performing Students Unit of the NSW Department of Education.
If your first preference is Hornsby Girls High School, you will need to apply and pay for the test at Hornsby Girls High School prior to the closing date. Your daughter will then sit the test at Hornsby Girls High School on Saturday 7 August 2021.
If your first preference from the list above is not Hornsby Girls High School you must apply, pay for and sit the test at the school you nominate on your application form as your first preference.

In Year 11 the Principal determines the number of new students in this year based on their performance in the ACER test. This will vary from year to year.
Your daughter will then sit the test at Hornsby Girls High School on Saturday 7 August 2021.
The Selective High School Placement Test will be held on Thursday 11 March 2021.
However, you cannot sit the test at Hornsby Girls High School if we are not your first preference.

The Year 7 orientation program covers a number of activities to help Year 6 students make a smooth transition to High School. The Open Day and Year 6/7 Orientation Day provide girls and parents with an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the school and to meet their Peer Support Leaders.
This program is held weekly over Term 1 to ensure that Year 7 feels a sense of connection and belonging to their new school. It is another opportunity for girls to develop friendships, not only within their own year group but also with their Year 10 Peer Support Leaders.
This Camp is held in the first few weeks of school to enable students to make friendships within their year. Many of our students are the only girls from their primary school and the camp, through its interactive group activities, ensures that girls mix and meet each other on a personal level.
This workshop is held for Year 7 in Term 1 and provides an opportunity for the school to discuss the issues of bullying and safety, especially internet safety. The theatrical performance Verbal Combat by Brainstorm productions provides and engaging stimulus for discussion.
