Beginning in early October 2018, parents and guardians of LA Unified students with an existing account will need to perform a one-time validation of a Personal Identification Number (PIN) code for students linked to their Parent Portal accounts.
These PIN codes will be sent in the mail to parents with existing accounts or can be obtained at the office of each child’s school of attendance. A separate PIN will be required for each student linked to each parent account. This job aid will provide steps for validating PIN codes. BEFORE YOU GET STARTED

The Personal Identification Number (PIN) is a four-digit code that protects application settings on a child's device and prevents a user from uninstalling the application. This PIN is set from ESET Parental Control for Android website or the parent's mobile device.
In mobile devices, the PIN acts like a password preventing other people from gaining unauthorized access to your device. This is a numeric code which must be entered each time the device is started (unless the PIN security feature is turned off).
If a parent forgets the password for their Parent Portal Account, there are three ways they can receive a password reset email. Read on below for instructions on each one of these ways:
From the Parent Portal login page, the parent can click on the blue 'Forgot your password?' link below where they would normally sign in to the portal.
Once we verify your identity, you will receive your IP PIN via the U.S. Postal Service within three weeks. You will receive your IP PIN annually through the mail.
You must pass a rigorous identity verification process. Spouses and dependents are eligible for an IP PIN if they can pass the identity proofing process.
