The Indian Prairie School District 204 Board of Education is charged by Illinois law to provide a public education to the 29,000 students in our geographical boundaries. The major function of the Board is to establish educational policies and set goals and objectives for the district.

They are District 204 parents and residents who are concerned about education and want the best for all children, families and community members. Board members volunteer their time to serve the community and receive no compensation for their service on the Board.

The seven members of the Board of Education are elected for four-year terms; all serve as at-large members. They are District 204 parents and residents who are concerned about education and want the best for all children, families and community members.
Illinois state law requires specific training for all elected or appointed school board members. Each of District 204's board members has successfully completed the mandatory training required in the following areas: Open Meetings Act, Professional Development Leadership Training, and the Performance Evaluation Reform Act.
