At the International School of Boston (ISB), students, beginning in Preschool through Grade 12, are challenged to see things differently, think broadly and openly, and become successful global citizens.
The ISB admissions process is thoughtful and selective. We work closely with new families to determine if our school is the best place for your child to learn, grow and become an open-minded citizen of the world.
New in September 2021: Spanish-language program . As one of the oldest bilingual French-American schools in the United States, ISB prepares students for one of two esteemed international diplomas, the French or the International Baccalaureate, allowing students to apply to any college or university in the world.
Students applying to Toute Petite Section (TPS) must be 2 years old by September 1st of their entry year, and do not need to be toilet-trained before entering school. TPS (2 years old) and Pre-K (3 years old) students have the option to attend for half days (Monday-Friday, 8:15am-12:00pm)
French is not required to follow the IB Diploma track.
ISB will administer these assessments to local applicants. For international and out-of-state applicants, an applicant’s current school may administer testing.
Here, rigorous bilingual education meets creativity; inclusive cultural experiences create a welcoming environment; and dedicated teachers cultivate the global mindset needed to learn and lead, today and in the future.
Learning in two languages, French and English, is the heart of our program. Our bilingual, international education leads children to a more flexible way of thinking. Students are immersed in another culture and become comfortable with themselves and respectful of others.
From traditional team sports like soccer and basketball, to unique programs like fencing and archery, athletic teams and club sports help ISB students develop confidence, school spirit, teamwork, self-sacrifice and sportsmanship – all while building a deep sense of community.
Students at all levels are introduced to the world at ISB, and learn to see things differently as they speak and think in two or more languages.
Our 60-year history is one of innovation, dedication and true student focus. Founded in 1962, ISB quickly grew from a Jardin d’Enfants (French-language Kindergarten) into a flourishing learning environment with more than 500 students representing about 40 countries on one campus.
French is not required for entrance into our International Program. Learn more about how to apply for the Homestay Program (grades 9 to 12). We are truly teaching the world at the International School of Boston. We welcome you to join us.
