What is Canvas? Canvas is a learning management system used by Joplin Schools. It is primarily used at the high school. However, many of our middle and elementary school teachers also use the system.

How do I sign up my child as a parent?

Parent Signup info. (see below) Enter your name in the name field. Enter your email in the email field. Enter your child's username in the child's username field. (Ask your child what this is.) Enter your child's password in the child's password field. (Ask your child what this is.)

When will pre-enrollment form be sent to school?

After you finish the pre-enrollment form, it will automatically send to your child's school. Beginning August 9, 2021, you will be allowed to go to your child's school and bring proper documentation to complete the enrollment process.

What does school staff do during enrollment?

School staff will work with you during your visit to fully complete the enrollment process or inform you of additional documentation needed.

Can a child go to Joplin School?

Any school-age child residing within district boundaries and who meets legal and Board of Education requirements may enroll in Joplin Schools. New student enrollment (including kindergarten registration) takes place at the school where your child will attend.

Joplin Area Catholic Schools

A pillar in the Joplin community, the Joplin Area Catholic School System (JACS) was founded in 1885 – 12 years after the city was incorporated – by the Sisters of Mercy. Shortly after the Sisters of Mercy arrived in Joplin they established a school and the first hospital in Joplin – now Mercy Hospital Joplin.
