It is a five-year program designed for students in grades 6-10. The Middle Years Programme shares common educational principles with the IB Primary Years Program and the IB Diploma Program , including an aim to develop internationally-minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, to help to create a better and more peaceful world .
Julius West Middle School was the first middle school in Montgomery County and in the State of Maryland to offer the Middle Years Programme. It was authorized as an IB World School in 2003. All 6th, 7th and 8th graders who live in our attendance area are a part of the program and there is no application procedure.
The Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) middle school intramurals program is a planned extension of the physical education instructional programs.
All 7th and 8th grade students interested in participating in the spring season (soccer) must complete the online registration process.
