In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month this year, Student Council is supporting The Pulsera Project. Pulseras (handwoven bracelets) are being sold for $5 each and bolsitas (small bags) are $10 each.
Recently, you may have seen Kew-Forest in the news. Our studio artists in the Upper School were asked to design a plaque for the tombstone of Millie Tunnell, who was born into slavery around 1783. She was buried at Maple Grove Cemetery in 1896 but her tombstone was unmarked.
Samantha is the author of the acclaimed memoir I Don't Want to Be Crazy, which was a New York Public Library Best Book for Teens and a Voices of Youth Advocates Poetry Pick. Samantha lives and works in New York City and is a Publishing Director at Little, Brown Books for Young Readers.
