What is the Royal Academy of Dance?

Royal Academy of Dance exams provide the opportunity for dancers to achieve their personal best, have fun, and receive recognition from the world’s largest examining organization. The RAD exams preparing dancers for careers in dance, and give dancers the chance and abilities to compete on an international level.

Why was my child invited to company dance?

If your child was invited into our Company Dance Program it is because they showed enthusiasm, focus, and skill development in their ballet or jazz class last season.

What class do dancers take?

In addition to their regular dance class (plus RAD Ballet Exam where applicable), dancers will take a Spotlight class, where they will learn an additional dance each season to be performed.

Why do we have a spotlight program?

What are the requirements for LDA?

Our basic requirement for a student entering a Competitive Program is that they take Ballet, Jazz Technique and Jazz Choreography. Other genres of dance get added as the level/age increases.

How does dance help you in college?

They develop self-discipline which benefits them in college and later in the work place. For many, it builds self-esteem and develops a love for the arts that will last a life-time and contribute to many enjoyable hours at the theatr e.

How many hours of training is required for a dancer to be a dancer?

This program requires a minimum of 6 hours of training a week, including Ballet, Jazz, Rehearsal and optional Tap, Broadway, Contemporary, and Hip Hop Training.
