The Lee County Board of Education and the Lee County Board of Commissioners have selected the former W.B. Wicker School site, located at 900 S. Vance Street in Sanford, as the location for the county’s newest elementary school. The school is expected to open in the fall of 2019.
The School District of Lee County provides virtual after-school support for homework and class assignments for grades K-12 during regular school days.

Parent Portal allows the parent to create their own user name and password. When you receive the Access ID and password from the school, you will create an account and then link all your students to your account with the user name and password. You will need to go to your child’s school to receive an Access ID. If you have children at multiple schools, you will need to go to each school to register. Please see creating an account below.

To ensure students remain on track with assignments and curriculum being taught in schools, the district offers afternoon and evening virtual office hours for grades K-12.
Based on recent changes to the StrongSchoolsNC toolkit that provides pandemic guidelines for schools, the Lee County Board of Education voted unanimously last night to make masks optional for students and staff beginning on Monday, February 21. State health officials announced those changes in the toolkit late last week.
