What is mates?

The Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science (MATES) is designed to provide its students with a rigorous academic curriculum with a concentration in the areas of math, science and technology. MATES provides a unique and challenging hands-on learning experience.

What is the student experience like at mates?

Our student experience is enriched by student clubs, organizations, and volunteer opportunities. MATES is a competitive program offered through the Ocean County Vocational Technical School (OCVTS) that accepts applications from eighth-grade students who are considered residents of Ocean County.

What information can my first mates view?

Setting them up as your First Mates allows them to (only) view your financial and academic information. You are in full control of what, and when, they are allowed to view your information online through the First Mate interface.

Can I access ID services through the first mate system?

ID Services access is not granted through the First Mate System. For ID Services Support, you will need to visit the ID Services Webpage or contact them directly. The FirstMate system does not authorize First Mates to make payments on student accounts.

What is the mission of a first mate?

First Mate Access. You are at college to learn. As a Buccaneer your mission is to plunder the treasures of knowledge. Don't go on this journey alone. Does First Mates contact faculty?

The FirstMate system does not authorize First Mates to contact faculty members about student progress. The FirstMate system is intended for use by undergraduate and graduate students.
