October 14, 2021: To ensure we abide by recent legislation and support students while they learn at home due to COVID-related absences, beginning Monday, October 18, all students learning from home due to a COVID-related absence will be on what’s called “Short Term Independent Study.”

2021-2022 School Year Information

Short Term Independent Study

Students will access each day’s assignments in their teacher’s Schoology folder. Teachers will assign work to correspond with the required number of daily instructional minutes. Students in grades TK-6 (and Tuolumne grade 7) will have access to live virtual instruction each day.

Senate Bill 328

Senate Bill 328 (SB 328) was created by legislators to address adolescent sleep deprivation. The law requires that the school day for middle and junior high schools begin no earlier than 8 a.m., and the school day for high schools begin no earlier than 8:30 a.m.

Modesto Virtual Academy (MVA)

The Modesto Virtual Academy (MVA) is our online independent study program for students in grades TK-12. Students access coursework on their own time, and meet with their assigned teacher once a week.
