It is important to check Parent Portal frequently to monitor student progress, pay lunch balances, manage fines and fees, and there are forms accessible through portal for various activities, depending on the building your student (s) attend.

Who is assigned a Parent Portal account for the resident household?

Parents - The primary parent is assigned a Parent Portal account during the initial set-up for registration. An additional account will be activated for the resident household upon request. Parents who have joint custody may request Parent Portal access to the additional household upon request.

Returning to In-person Learning

After looking at the COVID numbers in our schools, we have decided return to in-person learning on Monday, January 24th, with the mask mandate in place. We will continue to monitor the Covid numbers. Thank you!

PowerSchool Student Portal

Due to PowerSchool technical issues, the student portal has been closed. We will reopen the portal as soon as all issues have been corrected. We apologize for the inconvenience.

MCS Mask Mandate - Updated 1.7.22

The MCS Board of Education believes that at this time it is best that all faculty, staff, and students go back to wearing masks and practicing social distancing. The rise in the number of cases in our system and the closing of several systems near us have given us reasons to support this decision.

Alabama Literacy Act At Home Plan

The Alabama Literacy Act was created to help improve reading outcomes to ensure students are reading on grade level by the end of third grade. Students must demonstrate sufficient foundational reading skills to read and comprehend grade-level texts in English language arts, science, social studies, and even math.

MCS Peer Helpers

Our Peer Helpers are the catalyst to supporting a positive culture and climate in our schools by being focused on lending a helping hand when they see one is needed. They are working on leading a Kindness Campaign in each school that will last through the month of January.

Attendance Matters Workshops

ATTENDANCE MATTERS WORKSHOPS to be offered every third Wednesday at 1:00 and 6:00 for parents of students that have tardies, check outs, and unexcused absences. The same link will be used at each meeting.

Sign up for email notifications of student school news, attendance, assignments and report cards 1) Log into ParentConnection and click on the Email Notification tab in the Welcome bar 2) Select which email notifications you would like to receive and click Submit.
