When you have faculty and staff who are dedicated to working with adolescents, an environment of 24/7 learning and growth takes shape. Every student who graduates from Mercersburg enrolls in a rigorous and meaningful capstone course, delving into a topic of their choice. Mercersburg’s ethos is egalitarian.

Option 3 - Start the vaccination series upon arrival at Mercersburg.
Yes, parents will be allowed to visit campus after the first two weeks of school, starting on September 14, with no restrictions, other than all visitors must wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status.
All students are required to be covered by an insurance plan that provides coverage in the United States and specifically in the state of Pennsylvania. Parents must provide proof of health insurance coverage with a U.S.-based company before the start of school. The school offers a policy for students living abroad without health insurance coverage which provides coverage in the U.S. for $2,650 per 12-month period. There is also a domestic insurance plan available. Parents are responsible for any unpaid costs for medical care which is provided. Families will receive specific instructions later this summer on providing insurance information and other medical information through Magnus Health, which is the electronic medical records system used by the Health Center. As a reminder, students now pay a one-time fee for access to most services at the Health Center and will no longer be charged for most individual services rendered.
Mercersburg Academy is looking forward to a more traditional year, but we also realize not everything is back to normal and many of you have questions as it relates to our vaccine and return to school protocols. As you know, the health and well-being of our students and community members is our primary concern and we have the opportunity and obligation to unite through vaccination to prevent this virus from spreading in our community.
All forms are open in Magnus Health and should be filled out at your earliest convenience. The school will send reminder emails over the summer with reminders to help families keep on track.
Yes , Mercersburg Academy requires all community members to receive the flu vaccine for the 2021-2022 year. The Health Center is offering the injectable flu vaccine to students for the current flu season for $25 (please contact the Health Center if this fee is a hardship). Flu vaccination needs to be completed prior to returning to school after break on November 29, 2021. It is likely that flu viruses and the virus that causes COVID-19 will both be spreading again this fall and winter. It is possible to have the flu (as well as other respiratory illnesses) and COVID-19 at the same time. In this context, getting a flu vaccine continues to be important. The CDC recommends that all people six months and older get a flu vaccine every year. Getting a flu vaccine will not protect against COVID-19; however, the flu vaccine has many other important benefits. Flu vaccines have been shown to reduce the risk of flu illness, hospitalization, and death. Flu vaccination in the school environment is another important way to keep our campus community healthy. If your student receives the vaccine at home, please notify the Health Center.
