The Mid-Del School District has been established for the purpose of serving the educational interests of resident students. State law provides that a child's residence for school enrollment purposes is "the school district in which the parents, guardian, or person having legal custody holds legal residence".
If approved, the parent or legal guardian must return to the Central Enrollment Center to pick up the approval letter to present to the receiving school in order to proceed with scheduling. The parent or legal guardian must comply with all enrollment requirements in order to complete the enrollment process.
The Central Enrollment Center is located at 4731 Judy Drive in Del City, OK. The Central Enrollment Center office can be reached at (405) 582-7095 or via email at enrollment@mid-del.net..
All requests for transfer into the Mid-Del Public School District initiated by or on behalf of a nonresident student shall be approved or denied in accordance with District policy. In accordance with Oklahoma state law, two (2) types of Out-of-District Transfers may be requested by the parent, guardian, or person having legal custody of the nonresident student:
Approved emergency transfers may be cancelled by Mid-Del Schools during the current year at any time due to failure to comply with the guidelines as outlined in the Attachment “B” consent form submitted by the legal guardian at the time of transfer request.
No child shall be permitted to attend any Mid-Del School District school whose parent, guardian, person or institution holding legal custody of such child are not legal residents of Independent School District No. 52, unless they conform to the Student Transfer Policy.
Parents and guardians should closely monitor a student’s progress and communicate with the teachers on a regular basis. It is important that parents help students stay focused and on a routine schedule to minimize distractions. Parents/guardians will need to provide transportation for any on-campus activities.
MDVA offers board-approved middle, and high school curriculum that is comprehensive and aligned to Oklahoma’s state standards. Grades and transcripts will be issued by Mid-Del Public Schools.
Virtual Learning does not mean google classroom calls that will last from 8-4pm. However, teachers may engage through google classrooms, phone calls, and emails with students. Families should monitor the student’s progress daily. Mid-Del Virtual Academy Teachers have designated office hours for communication.
How and when do we select MDVA? The MDVA application will open online Monday, April 19, 2021. The MDVA application is separate from the official enrollment form for Mid-Del Public Schools. If your student is NEW to Mid-Del, there is a link in the online enrollment form to complete the application.
Students may transfer from MDVA to their home school site for in-person learning at any time. Courses at the school site are not guaranteed to be the same courses as the student was enrolled in at MDVA. However, they would not be able to move back to MDVA once they have been transitioned out.
Yes, all Mid-Del graduates qualify for Ticket to Rose. Will the district provide a device/computer? Yes, the district will provide the device - Chromebooks. Will the district provide a mobile hotspot for internet access? No, the district will not be able to provide a mobile hotspot.
