The Military Magnet Academy is a caring school where all cadets are challenged to learn every day. The Military Magnet Academy prepares students to become competent, disciplined, and responsible citizens by providing the necessary learning environment.
In all schools, except the Visual Performing Arts (VPA) Magnet schools, the selection process is done by a random selection of the eligible applicants. VPA Magnet schools require auditions and students are selected as a result of their auditions.
All Magnet programs require all students to apply for placement. Magnet programs/schools do not adhere to boundary restrictions. How does the Magnet application process work? Apply to over 100 Magnet Schools across Miami-Dade. The application period for the 2022-2023 school year is open from October 1st until January 15th.

Entry into the New Bridge Middle, Clyde Erwin Elementary, Northwoods Elementary, Onslow Virtual Secondary School, and Onslow County Virtual Elementary School magnet school lotteries are available to enrollment-eligible children of all Onslow County residents or in accordance with the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children..
Please note that at Clyde Erwin Elementary Magnet (CEEM) there are two options. Some lottery slots are available in Spanish Language Immersion Classrooms and there are some slots available in traditional classroom settings. An applicant may put their child's name in the lottery for a Spanish Language Immersion slot, a traditional slot, or both.

CyberStart America is a national program that uses a free cybersecurity game for high school students to help identify those with the potential to help meet our nation’s critical need for cybersecurity professionals.
5:30 PM - Art in Bloom This event is a reception to usher in Youth Art Month which is a national celebration of the arts in schools and an annual arts advocacy program. YAM traditionally includes art shows, special exhibits, fundraisers, school, and community activities that take place each spring to celebrate visual art education.
