Parents moving out of Montclair to a new school district or remaining in Montclair and transferring to a private school must officially withdraw their child from school following the instructions below. Log onto your Parent Access account. Go to the Forms Tab. Click on the form titled "Transfer Form - New District".
To register online, sign in to Parent Portal, click on “See All Apps,” then click on “Online Registration” to verify or update your student’s information. Online registration can only be completed by the parent/guardian listed in the primary household of the student record.
If you don’t have a Parent Portal account, please contact your school directly for registration information.
Families can register online for the 2021-22 school year now through May 21, and again July 30 through your school’s deadline. To register online, sign in to Parent Portal, click on “See All Apps,” then click on “Online Registration” to verify or update your student’s information.
If you forget your password please use the " Forgot My Password" link on the Parent Access login screen. If you continue to have issues signing in please e-mail parentaccess@montclair.k12.nj.us along with your name, child’s name, and school.
Parent Access is a component of Genesis — our student information system. It allows us to provide you with a safe and secure way to view academic information about your children in one portal via the Internet. Depending on your child’s grade level you will have access to some or all of the following information:
Your Genesis student login ID is the same as your google account. Firstinitial lastname12@mpsdnj.us. The number represents the year of graduation. For example jsmith12@mpsdnj.us.
Depending on your child’s grade level you will have access to some or all of the following information: Your child’s schedule, and daily attendance record. Your child’s class attendance (grades 6 – 12) Your child’s discipline information. Your child's marking period, mid-term exam, final exam and final grades.
Parents are set up for Parent Access when they register their child for school the first time. If you do not think you have a Parent Access account, or want to set up a second account for your spouse, send an email from an email address we have on file that you wish to register with to: parentaccess@montclair.k12.nj.us with the following information:
The district is phasing out emergency cards in the 2016-2017 school year. Emergency cards will no longer be sent home each September to be filled out. Parents will keep all information up to date in Parent Access.
All students in grades 6 - 12 have their own access accounts. Because of this there is no need to let them use your account or give them your password. Student accounts do NOT have the ability to see contact information or sign forms electronically, but they can see everything else the parent account can see.
Early Intervention 3- and 4-Year-Olds

Report cards can be found in the Grading Tab under Available Report Cards. Assessment scores can be found on the Assessment Tab. Notify your child's school that you have requested a transfer. The school will notify you when the transfer form has been processed.
If you are a new parent/guardian registering for the first time make sure you upload the required documents.
Parents moving to a new residence within the district must notify the district of their new residence and provide proof of residency for that address.#N#Please follow the instructions below to update your address.
If you are new to Denver and need to enroll in a school for the current year, or your Denver address has changed, type your new address into School Finder to locate your neighborhood school.
If you are new to Denver, or your Denver address has changed, and would like to attend a school other than your neighborhood school, please complete a Mid-Year Entry application to your preferred schools by creating an account and logging in here.
If you are new to Denver, or your Denver address has changed, and you now reside in an enrollment zone, please complete a Mid-Year Entry application to your preferred schools by creating an account and logging in here. We encourage you to first create a Parent Portal account, then logging in using your Portal username and password.
If you want to change schools but have not moved, please contact the school where your student is currently enrolled to request the Administrative Transfer form. Transfer approval is based on space availability, demonstration of genuine need and student history.
Keep track of assignments your student turned in, check out their most recent grades and view past grades with your student.
Support your student in getting to class ready to learn. View if they’re arriving to class on time, discuss classes they may have missed and learn about possible behavioral concerns.
Review your student's schedule, see their subject areas, and understand what days and times they're attending which classes.
Explore other tools and apps that are available to you and your student.
