Welcome to Monte Vista Middle School. As the principal of MVMS, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you and your family to our school. Last year was an incredibly difficult year for our students, families, and teachers.
The TUSD Aeries.Net Parent and Student Portal is designed to allow parents and students access to their student’s information such as grades, report cards, attendance, schedules, and other student information.
The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District is evaluating and redrawing its school attendance boundaries for the 2022-2023 school year. We welcome your participation in this process.
Students will be supervised by MVHS staff and administrators. Students will be masked and remain 6 feet apart at all times. No more than 2 students at an outdoor table, across from one another. When walking in an outdoor hallway, students will walk single file on the far right hand side.
Students will always walk on the right hand side of a hallway. Students will exit the building. Students will not linger (congregate, hangout) in the hallways. Outside Gatherings of students should remain at 6 or fewer students, with 6 feet of separation.
The school is located in the Town of Danville, in the San Ramon Valley, approximately 35 miles east of San Francisco. Mission Statement: Monte Vista believes that meaningful education is a shared responsibility involving students, staff, family and community.
Students can take their mask off when they are eating or drinking. There is also the potential for mask breaks for students; however, this will be at the discretion of staff members. Students will need to follow their teacher’s policies regarding when masks can be removed for a break/snack/drink in a classroom.
Students will use hand sanitizer upon entry and exit. Students will wipe their desks with a wipe upon entry. Students will sit in their assigned seat, determined by the teacher. Students will not be allowed to leave their seat without permission from the teacher.
The postcard will indicate a date and appointment time for Mustang Days. During Mustang Days, Mustangs will receive devices, textbooks, buy PE clothes, get their class schedules, take school pictures (dress code applies), and receive their ID and lanyards.
A parent letter is going out today regarding the 2021-2022 school year. We will be returning to school on August 9, 2021, with full time in person learning. If you do not want your child to attend in person learning, please refer to our Tracy Independent Study Charter School option. The website can be found HERE.

MPUSD welcomes students and staff back to school in person, five days a week on Wednesday, August 4. The district hosts a virtual Town Hall on Wednesday, July 28 in English (5 p.m.) and Spanish (6 p.m.) to learn more.
MPUSD continues its path toward implementing a transitional kindergarten - grade 6 model in the 2021-22 school year, as well as TK - Grade 8 models, attendance boundaries, and school consolidations in 2022-23.
