What is the parent portal?

The Parent Portal is a great way for parents/guardians to stay connected to their student's grades, attendance, assessments, and important announcements. Parent Portal accounts are available for all students enrolled with Volusia County Schools and are easy to set up.

What is the VCS admissions portal?

This portal is for Current VCS Parents, Students, and Employees to access their records, account information, grades, update documents, and more! If you are applying for Admissions to VCS, please go to the Admissions Portal to start an application, view your application status, and register for Admissions events.

How do I log in to the student/faculty/staff portal?

To log in to the portal, current students, faculty, and staff will select Student/Faculty/Staff. Login through the single-sign on is required. Then, select the profile for the college at which you are enrolled or employed.

Creating Your Account

Please read the " Instructions on creating a Parent Portal account " document before creating your Parent Portal account.

Accessing Your Account

After you create your Parent Portal account, you can access it by going to https://volusia.focusschoolsoftware.com/focus/index.php?skipSAML.

Creating a new role

As an administrator, go to Site administration > Users > Permissions > Define roles and click the "Add a new role" button.

Agreeing to policies on behalf of the child

If the parent has been given the Capabilities/tool/policy:acceptbehalf then they can click on the child's profile, click the Policies and agreements link and agree to the policies there:

Adding the Mentees Block

This block needs to be added so parents can see links to their child's profile.

How a parent sees their child's activities

Once the mentees block has been added, a parent/mentor sees the link to any children/mentees they are responsible for.
