The WIDA ACCESS assessment is administered annually in Tennessee to measure the progress of EL students in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. This information provides teachers and schools with valuable information to evaluate the effectiveness of instructional programs and support for EL students.
The primary purpose of the ACT exam is to measure a high school student’s readiness for college. Tennessee public school students are required to attempt either the ACT or the SAT in order to graduate with a regular high school diploma. The ACT exam assesses students in English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science.
