A total of 120 students from Mound Westonka High School will be competing in this year’s state DECA competition, following a very competitive showing at the District III DECA Conference Jan. 9 at Bloomington Jefferson High School.

In the spirit of the 2022 Winter Olympics, Westonka Public Schools will be highlighting the Olympic efforts of many that have allowed us to keep our schools operating during challenging circumstances this year.
Despite the cold, engineering students in the Project Lead the Way program at MWHS bravely took to the water on January 14 for the annual Engineering Regatta. A total of 12 teams proudly launched cardboard vessels, which they designed and built, into the MWHS pool.

Mound Westonka High School was proud to host the 9th Annual Wright County Conference (WCC) Honor Band Festival on Jan. 8 in the Performing Arts Center. About 90 students from 13 school districts were selected for the event, which featured some of the top music students in the conference.
Mound Westonka High School has chosen seniors Hannah Drill and Lance Nemecek to represent the school at the regional Triple “A” Awards banquet. A recognition ceremony for the state-wide winners will be held in March.
Open Enrollment. Minnesota law covers enrollment of students who are Minnesota residents and wish to enroll in a regular public school district other than their own. This is called Statewide Enrollment Options, or open enrollment.

The kindergarten program offered at both Hilltop and Shirley Hills primary schools is all-day, every day kindergarten. Full day kindergarten is a state funded program and is free for all students.
