Naviance is a third-party vendor through which recommendation forms can be submitted via Common App. If a high school uses Naviance, the student's CEEB code will drive the assigned recommenders area of their application and prompt the student to work with their counselor to submit forms via Naviance.

In summary, Naviance is a tool that is very useful for guidance counselors and other school officials. It is also a good starting point for families to begin with in the applications process. But to successfully navigate the admissions process, Naviance's tools just aren't deep enough on their own.

Use the URL and login information to access the Naviance service. Click the link titled "About Me" upon logging in. Click on "My Profile." From here, various information about the student will be displayed on the screen, including his GPA.
Based on school reports, conversations with guidance counselors, and previous knowledge of the applicant's high school, admissions officers know whether they're looking at a weighted or unweighted GPA, and will only compare like with like.

Include as much detail as you can in every category — there's plenty of room. Add to each section of resume.
