Why has nbisd pushed back my back-to-school online registration?

Parents of Returning Students to NBISD - You may have noticed that we pushed back our back-to-school online registration to start a week later than normal. This is due to our Student Information System provider pushing out a major update to their system. This update is being built on an entirely different platform, rebranded and redesigned.

When is the budget for New Braunfels Independent School District 2021-2022?

The 2021-2022 fiscal year for NBISD runs July 1, 2021 - June 30 , 2022. The Board approved a budget of $108.1 million, which is 3.7 percent more than last year s budget of $104.2 million.

What certifications does New Braunfels High School have?

A total of 13 students earned the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Maintenance and Light Repair certification. Many of these students also earned additional certifications in ASE Brakes and ASE Suspension and Steering. NBHS had 28 students earn their certification in Adobe Certified Associate - Digital Video Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2020. They had 16 students pass their Texas State Floral Association Knowledge Based exam and 12 of these students also earned the Texas State Floral Association Level 1 certification. Additionally, 10 students got certified as a Phlebotomy Technician this year and eight students became Certified Medical Assistants. A total of 22 students earned the designation of Certified Pharmacy Technician by completing 240 hours of didactic pharmacy technician training and passing their state certification exam.

How old do you have to be to get a meal at NBISD?

Any child that is 18 years old or younger can still receive a meal at any of NBISD s summer curbside locations at no cost regardless of their eligibility status. Students not currently enrolled in NBISD also qualify for meal service at no cost. Additionally, the child does not have to be present to receive the meal but now a new verification process has been put in place. Beginning Monday, June 7, any adult that comes to a meal site without the child who will receive the meal must provide one (1) of the following items as documentation per child. Student ID Badge Report Card Student ID number NBISD pick-up tag (elementary students only) Copy of birth certificate Child s state ID Child s driver s license Copy of this letter (printed or a screenshot) Once the child s age is verified, the staff will issue the adult a car tag for use moving forward. Please place the car tag in your vehicle dashboard when picking up meals. The following pick-up procedures will also take effect on Monday, June 7: remain in the vehicle get your pick-up tag or ID ready to show Wait for an employee to hand you your food Monday-Friday from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Memorial Elementary (1911 S. Walnut Ave.) Seele Elementary (540 Howard) Central Kitchen (566 Butcher St.) Meals Available Curbside: Cold Breakfast & Hot Lunch. Weekend meal packs sent home on Fridays curbside distribution. When will NBISD start distributing letters?

Each school/site or central office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed upon request. Starting on July 26, 2021 , NBISD will begin distributing letters to the households of the children in the district about the 2022-23 eligibility benefits and actions households will need to take in order to apply.

When will NBISD be accepting household applications?

As such, NBISD will process household applications during the 2021-2022 school year to ensure student eligibility for free or reduced-price meals during the first 30 days of the 2022-23 school year, while the 2022-23 applications are being processed. Will schools offer free meals in 2022?

However, the United State Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued guidance that allows schools to offer free meals to all students this upcoming year. Applications and eligibility requirements are not required for students to receive free meals this year. Income eligibility requirements likely will resume during the 2022-23 school year.

In accordance with Governor Abbott s Executive Order prohibiting government entities from mandating masks as of June 4, 2021, NBISD will no longer be requiring masks for students, staff or visitors in any NBISD buildings or campuses. Masks will now be optional in NBISD. If a student or any of their immediate family member test positive for COVID-19, please contact the school as soon as possible or email nurse@nbisd.org . NBISD EMPLOYEES In addition, after June 4, staff will no longer be expected to complete the daily Employee Health Screening for COVID-19 Symptoms monitored by NBISD. NBISD employees are, however, still encouraged to monitor themselves for symptoms .
