The National Childcare Scheme (NCS) is a new scheme that provides financial support to help parents to meet the costs of childcare. The National Childcare Scheme provides 2 types of childcare subsidy for children over 6 months of age: A universal subsidy for children under 3.
This new Parent Portal bridges the parent/teacher gap and increases awareness of a child's development. Parents/Guardians can monitor assignments, attendance, grades, progress and performance - all in real time.
See ‘Rules’ below. You must meet certain conditions to be eligible for the NCS: Relationship to the child: You or your current partner must be a parent of the child or acting in loco parentis (this means acting as a parent to the child).
Parents/guardians that have been granted access to their student's information can use the guide below to help navigate throughout MyPack Portal. Log into MyPack Portal using the ‘NCSU Parents/Guests’ login (*Parents who are also Students or Employees of the University will log into MyPack using the ‘NCSU Faculty/Staff/Students’ option.)

16 and 17 year oldsNCS is designed for 16 and 17 year olds. Or, if you're between 18 and 24 with SEND or a disability, please get in touch. Otherwise, if you have already turned 18 by this 31st August 2022, you unfortunately won't be eligible.
Care to Learn Eligible parents can receive up to £160 per child per week (£175 living inside London) towards the cost of childcare.
How much is the grant? For each eligible child, the grant will be calculated on the basis of €64.50 a week per child for a free 3hr service 5 days a week, 38 weeks of the year.

Independent evaluation shows that NCS develops important skills, increases aspirations and wellbeing, mixes people from different backgrounds and increases community involvement. And it shows that meeting new friends and doing good feels good: over 90% who took part would recommend NCS to their friends.

A claimant cannot close their tax-free childcare account during an entitlement period for which they have made a declaration.
