PowerSchool is the student information system that the HSD uses to manage information such as grades, attendance, demographics, courses, etc. Since PowerSchool is web-based, some of this information can easily and safely be shared with parents and students via an online portal. Can I access the Parent Portal from anywhere? Yes.
MISTAR ParentPortal is a web application that provides parents with direct access to student data via the Internet. Using a confidential PIN (personal identification number) and password, parents can connect to the school district's student database using a web browser and view their child's data, such as progress reports, attendance records, report cards, transcripts, and more.

On Tuesday, May 24, 2021 , the Northville Public Schools Board of Education reaffirmed approval for a full in-person return for all students PK-26 for the 2021-2022 school year. The full in-person return, detailed by grade level below, is a return to the typical in-person school experience. Please note that the District is not offering a separate full virtual option for families with NPS teachers as offered during the 2020-21 school year. The district will continue to offer the same virtual programming options that were available to families prior to the 2020-21 school year. To add a student to an existing Parent Access account, simply login and go to Account Preferences. Then select the Student tab at the top of the web page, and click the Add button.
If you have not yet created a Parent Access account, the first step is to read through the Setup Instructions (PDF). When you are ready to proceed, visit the login page and choose the Create Account tab. In order to complete the setup process, you will be required to enter your child’s student Access ID and Access Password (provided by your child’s school). The setup is quick and only takes a few minutes.
The PowerSchool Parent Portal App currently available in Apple / Google Play stores has limited functionality, and does not allow for feature customization. To ensure the best possible user experience, we strongly recommend that mobile users access the HSD Parent Portal through the login on this web page and avoid using the PowerSchool managed App.
Legislation dictates that Parent Portal information can only be forwarded to the legal guardian. Therefore, for all children in the care of Child and Family Services, the Access ID’s will only be sent to each child’s legal guardian (their assigned CFS Worker).
