P-EBT is food assistance for families of school children who are eligible for free or reduced-price school meals through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) or School Breakfast Program (SBP), but are not receiving those meals due to campus closures and/or reduced in-person class schedules related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
A new P-EBT has been approved for Pennsylvania by the USDA FNS. If playback doesn't begin shortly, try restarting your device. Full screen is unavailable.
Provides parent locator and paternity establishment services, as well as assistance to establish and enforce child and/or medical support orders and collection and distribution of child support payments Louisiana Combined Application Project (LaCAP)
P-EBT benefits will NOT be loaded onto SNAP recipients' regular SNAP EBT cards. P-EBT benefits for 2021-22 WILL be loaded onto the same P-EBT cards used for the 2020-21 school year.
How can I check the balance on my P-EBT card? If you have already activated your P-EBT card, call 1-888-997-1117 and follow the prompts to check your balance. You cannot check the balance on the card until it has been activated. Before activation, the card balance will appear to be $0.
Go to the “P-EBT Case and Balance Information” page (note: on a mobile phone, click on “How Close Am I?” to see the page). There enter your P-EBT card number. Your balance will show below your P-EBT case number. You can also call the number on the back of your P-EBT card (800-997-2555).
The Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) Program was created in Spring 2020 to provide funds for families to buy food while schools were closed due to COVID-19. More P-EBT funds are being issued for the 2021-22 school year and will be available this summer.
All eligible children will receive a standard summer P-EBT benefit of $375, which will be reloaded on existing P-EBT 2.0 cards in December 2021.
The Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) has received federal approval to distribute a second round of Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) benefits to eligible families.
What if I never got P-EBT for the end of the 2020-21 school year? If you never received a card last year, you can still request DHS to look into what happened by using the PA DHS P-EBT Inquiry Form or calling the P-EBT hotline at 484-363-2137.
If you're not sure whether your EBT card has cash benefits or not, a quick way to find out is to try withdrawing cash at an ATM using your EBT card. It is best to use an ATM located at a bank, supermarket, shopping mall, or other establishment where EBT is accepted.
Step 1 Insert or swipe your card at the ATM. Step 2 Enter your four-number Personal Identification Number (PIN) on the keypad and press the “OK” or “ENTER” key. Step 3 Select “WITHDRAW CASH” and then select “CHECKING.” (Some ATMs may use different words.)
To receive P-EBT benefits, eligible families MUST apply online at https://pebt.doe.louisiana.gov/PublicApps/SNP/ by 5pm on September 29.
Beginning October 1, 2021, SNAP recipients will see an increase in their monthly household allotment through a reevaluation of the Thrifty Food Plan (TFP). The TFP is used to set the amount of food assistance people participating in SNAP receive.
In response to the pandemic, DCFS has received federal approval to issue supplemental SNAP benefits for May 2022.
