What is the PowerSchool Parent Access portal?

The PowerSchool Parent Access portal is where parents/guardians with children in grades PreK-12 can access their child’s academic record and more through PowerSchool. Letters containing login information are mailed to families before the first day of school each year.

What grades does the parent portal support?

This allows parents/guardians to monitor students in grades 1 through 12 progress to monitor student achievement. Students in grades 6 through 12 also have access to the student friendly version of the Parent Portal.

What information can I find on the parent portal?

Information may include: school announcements, attendance, grades, schedules, and lunch balances. The portal may also be used by parents and students to manage course requests for middle and high school. For more information about the parent portal and exactly which types of information are available, please contact your child’s school.

Can you change your password on Schoology?

If you change the password once you log in to your Schoology parent account (this is recommended), then the default password found in the PowerSchool parent portal will not work. You can always use the Forgot your password link on the Schoology login page to reset your password.

The New Aspen Parent Portal

Chicago Public Schools is excited to announce that starting April 22nd, 2019, Parent Portal will be replaced with a new system called Aspen. Aspen will provide the same capabilities of the old Parent Portal while adding new features including Graduation Requirements, Student Fees and a new, easy-to-use mobile interface.

Parent Portal Minimum Computer Requirements

Windows operating system*, such as XP or Vista; and Internet Explorer versions 6 or 7 or recent releases of Firefox or Safari.
