Nyack Middle School serves approximately 660 students in grades 6 through 8. We strive to create an environment where all students learn, grow and become "better students and better citizens" who will contribute to this outstanding community.
If you were to rewind the clock to a couple of hundred years ago, you wouldn’t find the town of Nyack. Instead, you would find the Nyack indigenous tribe who used to love and live on the same land that we now call home. Although our community has a rich indigenous past, very few people know about the original Nyackers. Ms. Murphy’s/Mrs.

Students in Biomedical Innovations wanted to know "Does listening to music while studying improve memory?," so they designed an experiment to find out. (The short answer: NO!) Check out their full investigation in the presentation here.

The FRC is funded by the Nyack District and Rockland 21C. Research shows that family involvement in middle school has direct links to youth's academic success and social outcomes. The Nyack Middle School Family Resource Center's main goal is to help you, help your child during these challenging years.
Topics include: finding the right Child care program, paying for childcare, finding quality care for children with special needs, selecting a quality school-age program, and more.
February is another busy month at Liberty. We will be highlighting KINDNESS. We have a theme for each day during the week of February 14 th . Please see the flyer. Our students will participate in the Rockland Read-in on Friday, February 18 th . Students can wear their pajamas and enjoy reading books.
