Is NYOS Charter School free?

What is the enrollment system at Nyos?

NYOS uses a lottery based enrollment system. Every student has an equal opportunity to enroll at NYOS by filling out an application. In the spring of every year, NYOS compiles their waiting list for the next school year.

Where is NYOS in North Austin?

NYOS has two campuses in North Austin: a PreK-3rd grade campus on Kramer Lane and a 4th-12th grade campus at North Lamar Blvd and Yager. Our preschool program is a federally funded program for three and four year olds who meet eligibility requirements. You can read more about our preschool qualifications here:

What is an active duty child?

Be the child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority;

What is NYOS food service?

Our food service program is under the guidelines and policies set forth by the United States Department of Agriculture and state agencies that monitor compliance.

What happens if you don't pre-order for your student?

If you did not pre-order for your student, your student may still receive a meal the day of service. Please have your student (s) walk through the cafeteria line. Our cafeteria staff will always have back-up meals prepared for students who did not bring a breakfast or lunch for the day. If a pre-order is not received by the Sunday at midnight deadline, students are not guaranteed a Preferred Meals meal of their choice.

Does NYOS have preferred meals?

NYOS is using Preferred Meals to manage student cafeteria accounts and pre-orders. Preferred Meals offers free online and phone support, so please do not hesitate to contact them with any questions you may have. Preferred Meals also offers a free and convenient app to allow you to manage your student’s account from anywhere.
