Rutherford Public School PreSchool Registration

The Rutherford Preschool Program is designed to offer Rutherford residents access to a half-day program for preschool children ages 3 and 4. The 3-year-old program meets daily from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and the 4-year-old program meets daily from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at both Lincoln and Washington Schools with an annual tuition of $3,000.00.

RHS Back to School Night – September 30, 2021

The PTSA-sponsored Back to School Night will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 beginning at 7:00 PM. Please note that this program is for parents or guardians only. Students should not attend.

Pierrepont School Spelling Bee

Could you spell the words “dingoes, conurbation or katabatic?” Twenty-four spellers competed on January 25, 2022 at the annual Pierrepont School Spelling Bee and after 21 hard-fought rounds crowned a new champion: Saisha Patel, a sixth-grader from Mrs. Manocchio & Ms. Mitchell’s homeroom.

Fifth Grade STEM Challenge

Fifth grade STEM students honored Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. They built podiums for his "I Have a Dream" speech after watching and discussing a Flocabulary video. The podiums had to be rectangular prisms, measure at least 4 inches, and stand on their own.

Books and Beyond

Once again, Pierrepont School is pleased to participate in the motivational reading program, BOOKS AND BEYOND. We will begin the program on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 for students in Grades 4 and 5. This year's program is sports themed "Reading... A Sport of All Seasons!”. The following will give you a basic introduction to the program.

5th Annual Literacy Fair

This school year, Pierrepont School will be hosting its 5th Annual Literacy Fair. The goal is to get our Pierrepont Elementary students excited about reading and provide an opportunity to share one of their favorite books with the rest of the school in a creative way.

Inclement Weather

Should a one-session day be called because of inclement weather, students in 4-6 will be dismissed at 12:20 p.m. It is imperative that your children know the procedures you expect them to follow upon leaving school. The "Connect 5" system will notify parents by contacting phone numbers and/or email addresses currently on school records.

Union Middle School staff spotlight shines on Francesca Mastropierro. Ms. Mastropierro is currently the grade seven leave replacement guidance counselor at UMS. Her door is always open to meet the needs of UMS students and staff. Ms. Mastropierro’s counseling services focus on student academic and social-emotional well-being. Ms.
