As a Title I school for the 2021-2022 school year, SCVCS promotes working with students and families in the development and implementation of activities that will improve student learning.

Students who do not re-register by the deadline will be removed from SCVCS and would need to re-apply for enrollment if they plan to return for the 2022-2023 school year.
Students must have an updated Proof of Residency and Student/Parent Contract on file each year.
State attendance regulations require school personnel to conduct a Student Attendance Intervention Conference for every student who accumulates 3 consecutive unexcused absences or a total of 5 unexcused absences. At the conference, the parent or guardian and school personnel will address ways to correct and/or improve the issues.

South Carolina Board of Education Regulation (SBE) 43-274 specifies the state requirements for school attendance. The regulation applies a three-tiered approach to defining the varying levels of truant behavior. Depending on the attendance circumstances, a child can be deemed truant, a habitual truant, or a chronic truant.
A student is also truant if the student does not work for ten consecutive days. The student may be withdrawn if the learning coach fails to contact the teacher prior to the ten days. Once withdrawn from SCVCS, the district in which the student resides will be notified.
The baccalaureate degree major of the teacher and any other graduate certification or degree held by the teacher, and the field of discipline of the certification or degree. Whether the child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications.
