Parents of SCS students are encouraged to set up their parent account in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Schools provide access code letters to parents/guardians. Parents can link their child/ren to their account, so they only have one log-in to access children at multiple schools.
The program is made available through the N.C. Department of Public Instruction. The Parent Portal component of PowerSchool is a convenient Internet-based program that makes it easy for parents to monitor and track their child’s academic progress.
Since PowerSchool is web-based, this information can easily and safely be shared with parents through the PowerSchool Parent portal. With PowerSchool, parents will be able to access vital information about their children quickly and accurately.

Generate a report for a group of students as you would normally, send it to the digital document delivery service, and it will be automatically split and sent to recipients as a password-protected attachment.
The Parent Portal component of PowerSchool is a convenient Internet-based program that makes it easy for parents to monitor and track their child’s academic progress. Parents will have access to attendance, schedules, grades and other important information. (Work of kindergarten through second grade students is not graded on a numeric system; therefore, grades for these students are not accessible on PowerSchool. Attendance information is available for these students.)

In order to receive login information for PowerSchool Parent Portal, you will need to report to your child's school and present a valid photo ID. You will receive a letter at the school with an auto-generated username and password. At the bottom of your letter will be your child's username and password that will allow them to access information as well. Please give this information to your child.

The student login information is located at the bottom of the letter received by parents after presenting their photo ID at the school. Students should receive their login information from their parents.
We recognize that PowerSchool has some challenges. However, we are working hard to minimize problems for students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
Parent Portal allows the parent to create their own user name and password. When you receive the Access ID and password from the school, you will create an account and then link all your students to your account with the user name and password. You will need to go to your child’s school to receive an Access ID. If you have children at multiple schools, you will need to go to each school to register. Please see creating an account below.
Parent Portal allows parents to access student information via any Internet connection. Parent Portal uses web access to serve the family and improve the effectiveness of the communication between teachers and parents.
