What resources are available to parents of Penn State students?

There are a variety of resources and services available for parents of Penn State students, including those that pertain to their student's official academic record if consent is granted by the student. An official transcript is the University's certified statement of a student's academic record.

What happens if you share your Penn State student account password?

IMPORTANT: Sharing the student access and password is a violation of Penn State policy. Doing so could result in the student being dismissed from Penn State. A student wishing to grant access to his/her student account, must do so by granting Authorized Payer Access.

What is the new student parent guide?

The Guide provides valuable resource information for new and continuing Penn State parents with students attending University Park campus. It features academic, cocurricular, and student support services information as well as a checklist for new parents. New families will receive a copy at New Student Orientation.

Verify Student Enrollment

Enrollment verifications provide confirmation of enrollment status, dates of attendance, and degree (s) conferred. Verification is used to confirm this information to insurers, lenders, employers, and other organizations.

LionPATH Delegated Access

Penn State's policy on Confidentiality of Student Records is designed to comply with the 1974 federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). This federal law prohibits disclosure of student records information without prior consent of the student.

Delegated Access

Delegated Access provides parents, guardians, or other individuals access to view specific student data in LionPATH.

Authorized Payer

Authorized Payer Access provides parents, guardians, or other individuals access to view and make payments on a student’s account, enroll in the Installment Payment Plan, and access IRS Form 1098-T.

What is the Office of the Bursar at Penn State?

With New Student Orientation in full swing at Penn State, the Office of the Bursar takes this opportunity to remind new and returning students about the importance of granting Authorized Payer access to their parents/others for accessing their student account.

Can an authorized payer access financial aid?

An Authorized Payer will not have access to financial aid information, grades, or other online student information through this process. Students are encouraged touse the Delegated Access process for access to this information.
