SoWashCo Online Student Experience

What courses are available through SoWashCo Online?

Students in grades K-5 will receive the same standards based instruction as their peers in a traditional school setting.

How does SoWashCo Online differ from our experience during emergency distance learning?

Secondary- class sizes will be capped at 40 students, per Minnesota Department of Education accreditation rules, no matter the subject area.

Can students take some classes online and others in person?

Students in grades 9-12 will be able to take all or some of their classes online. SoWashCo Online will have both comprehensive (full-time) and supplemental (part-time) approval for students in grades 9-12.

Will SoWashCo Online have a dedicated administrator and support staff?

Yes, Nick Falde has been named the principal for SoWashCo Online. He can be reached at nfalde@sowashco.org or at 651-425-7303.

Friday, Jan. 14 - Restorations, Cancellations and Delays

These routes were previously canceled but will take place on Friday, Jan. 14.

Bus Ridership

Busing information will be communicated before the start of school each year. Students must ride their assigned bus to and from school.

Bus Routes

Bus routes are arranged according to geographic area and stops are assigned one to three blocks from a student's home whenever possible.

Bus Stops

Whenever possible, bus stops will be located at corners or intersections. Because of motorist expectations, bus stops at corners or intersections have been deemed the safest. When a bus stops mid-block it can confuse motorists, whereas traffic anticipates the bus will stop or yield at intersections.

Bus Stop Criteria and Information

SoWashCo Schools' buses will use the eight-light system and stop arm at all stops unless an exception is made in policy or the stop is documented with an explanation. In order to properly operate the eight-light system, a bus stop will not be made within 300 feet of another.

Open Enrolled and Intra-District Transfer

Open enrolled and intra-district transfer students are not eligible for transportation services. Intra-district transfer form and guidelines state the student/parent/guardian is responsible for providing transportation.
