Dyslexia Assessment

We are committed to your child’s academic success and are glad to have the opportunity to provide your child with the support they need to be successful. As part of new legislation passed in the most recent assembly, SEA 217 provides guidance for testing students in grades K-2 for Dyslexia in an effort to provide earlier support for learners.

Additional Parent Resources

IDOE’s literacy team has created Literacy Family Guides for each elementary grade level K-5. These guides share grade level skills and ideas for how parents can get involved in their child’s education. Spanish translations are coming soon.

Before & After School Y Care

FWCS partners with the YMCA to provide childcare before and after school at many elementary schools, including half-day programs for pre-K students. The program provides snacks, homework assistance and structured activities.

Voluntary Student Accident Insurance

All students are provided medical coverage for athletics and accidents that occur during the school day and while participating in school-sponsored events and athletics. This coverage is free of charge to students and is secondary to any other medical coverage the student may have. Coverage may not cover the total cost of all claims.
