Help your student learn how to choose the right college. UNT is the choice of nearly 41,000 students and is a student-centered public research university. As one of Texas' largest universities, UNT offers 113 bachelor's, 94 master's and 37 doctoral degree programs, many nationally and internationally recognized.

What kind of community service opportunities are available at UNT?

Meal plans are available to students living on and off campus. At UNT, students can get involved in any of the more than 400 student organizations and step into a leadership role. In addition, many community service opportunities and leadership programs are available through the Center for Leadership and Service.

What's new at UNT System it shared services?

The UNT System IT Shared Services has completed the upgrade to the EIS Campus Solutions Student Information System, my.unt.edu. The system has been tested and confirmed that the upgrade was successful. All EIS portals are now available for use.

Parental Access to Student Records

Access to student personal information is governed by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which protects the confidentially and integrity of student records by restricting access and granting students rights to inspect and review records kept by the institution.

Important Policy Information

Based on Texas Education Code 54.014, undergraduate students who are classified as Texas Resident eligible to pay instate tuition, are subject to an additional excessive hour tuition rate. The code became law in the fall of 2007 and impacts undergraduate students who initially enrolled at any Texas public institution 1999 and later.

Does UNT have parent orientation?

UNT has an office solely devoted to parent programs , offering many ways for parents to get involved in their student’s college experience. One of the first things you can do to ensure your student makes a successful transition to college is to attend Parent Orientation, which is held concurrently with each Freshman Orientation session.

Can parents attend college meetings?

Due to space limitations and COVID-19 safety protocol, parents will not be able to attend college meetings, advising sessions, or course registration. Parents will, however, be able to join their student after registration to help take care of payment if necessary.

Does purchasing a packet register you for parent and family orientation?

In addition, purchasing a packet does not register you for an in-person Parent and Family Orientation. For guests who are not attending an in-person orientation but would like a Parent & Family Orientation packet, please complete our request form below.

How long is Parent and Guest session open?

Parent and guest sessions will remain open until the registration capacity is met or three business days before the session. If you plan to attend the same orientation as your student, please determine if space is available before registering for orientation.

Can you bring a guest to parent orientation?

It is not guaranteed that a student will be able to bring a guest to orientation. Each Parent & Family Orientation session has a registration capacity. Once the overall registration capacity is met for each session, guests will no longer be able to sign-up for orientation. Walk-ins are not permitted.
