When will the Willis ISD bond package be presented to voters?

At the regular school board meeting Wednesday, Feb. 9, Willis ISD trustees unanimously called for a bond package to be presented to voters in May 2022. The bond is comprised of three propositions totaling $225,000,000. The bond carries a potential $0.05 tax rate increase if all three propositions are passed by voters.

How is Spherion giving back to Willis ISD CTE programs?

Today the Willis High School Career & Technology Department received a $500 check from Spherion Staffing, LLC's Give Back program. Travis Utecht, Director of CTE, accepted the check from Katherine Kleemann and Regina Shelton. The money will go directly back into CTE programs to support Willis ISD CTE programs.

What is the Wildkat Resource Center?

We are excited to announce the new Wildkat Resource Center (WRC), formerly known as the parent center, will be fully up and running for the 2021-2022 school year. The WRC is being led by District Outreach Liaison, Kindra Schiffner. The WRC will offer FREE items for WISD employees, students, and their families in need of assistance. When someone within our school district encounters hard times, we will assist them. The WRC will provide clothing, undergarments and hygiene products monthly to our families in need. The new WRC will not accept donations of any household items or furniture. We are currently taking donations by appointment only.

When is the P-EBT open?

The application for P-EBT benefits is now open until Aug. 13. P-EBT provides food benefits to families with eligible children who temporarily lost access to free or reduced-price meals during the 2020–21 school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Click headline to read more.

Who is the principal of CC Hardy Elementary?

Susan Fossler, currently assistant principal at Parmley Elementary, has been promoted to Principal of CC Hardy Elementary for the 2021-22 school year. Fossler joined WISD in 2017 as a counselor before being named AP the following year. Prior to joining WISD she was a teacher and counselor in Conroe ISD for 17 years. Fossler holds a bachelor of science in education and a masters in school counseling from Sam Houston State University.
