How can parents view student progress in Spartanburg schools?

Parents and guardians of students in Spartanburg School District Five will now be able to view student progress through PowerSchool, the district's student information system. PowerSchool brings together teachers, students, parents, and administrators in a web-based data system.

How do parents/guardians access the parent portal?

In order for parents to access the Parent Portal, they will need to obtain a login and password. Parents/guardians may obtain logins and passwords through the Byrnes Front Office with a valid picture ID.

The PowerSchool Parent Portal may be accessed from any place with Internet access. You can find the link for the Parent Portal on the James F. Byrnes website. The application uses a secure link that encrypts the data to and from the end user and is very secure.

Do parents have to pick up their child's passwords?

For security purposes, parents are assigned passwords for each child. Parents must pick up passwords in person, and have picture ID available. Lost or forgotten passwords must also be picked up in person. Last Modified on August 16, 2020.
