The Washington County School District is located in beautiful rural Northwest Florida. Approximately 3,400 K-12 students are enrolled in two elementary, two middle, and two high schools. The district also serves approximately 600 post-secondary students in one technical center. The schools are located in two towns, Chipley and Vernon.

The Marching Jags participated in the Shriners Children's Charleston Classic aired on ESPN on November 18-19. They received rave reviews from spectators, fans, and staff!
On November 9, 2021, Mr. Joe Castle, Director of Project Change with the Williamsburg County School District, visited Hemingway M.B. Lee Middle School and spoke with students about bullying during his presentation. Mr. Castle has been developing intervention programs for over 10 years designed specifically to assist students in Williamsburg County.
Kenneth Gardner Elementary School celebrated their love for reading by hosting a Fall Literacy and Parenting Festival on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at 6:00 pm. The event had a wonderful turnout of family and community members who most were dressed in their best character costumes.
